REPORT
After an enforced break last week following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Redditch and South Warwickshire Combination Football League returned with a minute’s silence held before each fixture.
In Round One of the Terry Cup, Bromsgrove Rangers progressed after beating Abbeydale in a 12-goal thriller whilst SSS Lions beat Bartley Reds B 7-0 with a hat trick from Jacob Webb.
In Round Two, AFC Walkwood and Feckenham beat Redditch Borough NT 4-1 to reach the third round with a Jack Cole hat trick and Rubery Athletico narrowly beat Meadow Park 2-1 whilst Redditch Borough LA beat Catshill Rangers 7-1.
Redditch Town and Astwood played out a 4-4 thriller after 90 minutes with Astwood progressing 5-3 on penalties and, in the final match of Round Two, FC Arrow Spa beat Beoley Village 4-1 with two goals from Shay Palmer.
In the Hunt Crane Cup, South Birmingham Activ beat Red Star Bromsgrove 6-1 to secure their place in the semi-final with two goals each from Lee Jagger and Ellis Reilly in their tally.
Elsewhere, in the Premiership, Quinton Athletic beat Catshill 2-1 with Jordan Murphy scoring both goals whilst Austin Ex Apprentices continued their winning ways beating AFC Thomas Brothers 3-0.
In the Championship, Headless Cross beat Queens Head 7-1 with two goals from Ant McNally in the only game in that division.
And In League One, Hizza United beat Churchfelds 8-0 with Jack Dawkins scoring a hat trick and Matt Dyson netting a brace.
There was also a 5-2 win for Frankley United against Crusaders which included a hat-trick from James Heaton whilst Rednal Bilbao beat Oasthouse Athletic 5-0 to remain top of the table.
Lastly, in League Two, Lydiate Casuals beat FC Redditch 4-1 to remain second in the table whilst Stoke Prior beat Astwood FC Reds 4-1 with two goals from Mark Edwards.
