LADIES at Bromsgrove Tennis Club continued their superb start to the season with two of their sides cruising to 4-0 victories at the weekend.
A Division 5 home tie against Inkberrow saw the C team of Anne Banner with Debbie Oliver and Steph Armstrong with Joan McGregor complete a straightforward victory as they failed to lose any sets.
It was not so easy for Bromsgrove D as they were pushed a little harder, with the doubles pairing of Di Wilson and Lesley Hodson notably claiming a three set contest against Pershore.
Captain Connie Wedelich said: “After promotion last year it’s great to get two straight wins under our belts. Pershore were great hosts but our fighting spirit showed through when it was needed.”
Their success came a week after Bromsgrove Men’s C team beat local rivals David Lloyd Bromsgrove C team 42-39 on games.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated clash between Bromsgrove Men’s A team against Ross on Wye was a damp squib as their Herefordshire opponents failed to field a full team. James Griffiths and Matt Kirkham both completed straight sets victory as the hosts ran out 3-1 winners.
