TICKETS go on sale on Monday (October 26) for a Christmas by Candlelight Concert at Bromsgrove’s historic St John’s Church.
The Ynysowen Male Choir will be performing at the venue at 7pm on December 5.
It was formed after one of the most tragic disasters in the UK’s history when slag tips on the mountainside of Aberfan slipped and engulfed the junior school.
People from around the world came to their doorsteps to offer help and assistance and, fostering the community spirit, many groups were formed – the choir being one of them.
Wednesday (October 21) was the 49th anniversary of the tragedy.
On December 5, Ynysowen will be supported by choirs from SongStars, Millfields First School and St John’s C of E Middle School Academy.
