HERE are pictures of the new class 730 train fleet which started operating on the Cross City Line between Lichfield and Bromsgrove, via Northfield, Longbridge, Barnt Green, Alvechurch and other stations.
At present one new six-car set has been allocated to operate while staff training continues.
Since Monday the new trains have worked the 8.29am, 11.29am, 2.29pm, 5.29pm and 8.29pm departures from Bromsgrove.
Features of the new 90mph electric trains include storage areas for up to three bikes to be carried per three-car set, at least one accessible toilet on every train, clear luggage racks to minimise forgotten bags, plug and USB sockets at every seat, underfloor heating and intelligent air conditioning reacting to carriage environment, along with free Wifi.

A gangway enables access between both trains on a six-car formation. Picture Neil Gordon Media.
The gangway in the middle of six-carriage trains (pictured above) enables access between the two sets of three – something which was not featured on the now old class 323 fleet being replaced.
