A TENACIOUS boy will walk 15 miles from Halesowen to Bromsgrove town centre, via Clent, on Friday (August 22) to raise funds for injured soldiers.
Cory Patterson, seven, was inspired to take on the challenge by his uncle who has just got back after serving in Afghanistan with the Rifles Regiment.
Proud mum Bella, who will walk with him, told The Standard: “Cory decided he wanted to do something to raise money for soldiers who are injured and their families.
“I think this is a big achievement for anyone let alone a seven-year-old.
“His uncle Dale is a huge role model to him and he really wanted to do something to help.
“He arranged it all himself – we are so proud of him.”
He has already collected more than £300 for The Rifles Regimental Trust’s Care for Casualties which helps wounded soldiers and their families.
Cory is also hoping Standard readers will help boost his coffers further by visiting his fund-raising page www.justgiving.co.uk/corypatterson
