Road closed in Blackwell while National Grid repairs two gas leaks

Bromsgrove Editorial 20th Oct, 2016   0

A ROAD in Blackwell has been closed by the National Grid while engineers repair pipes following two gas leaks in the road.
Greenhill is closed from the junction with B4094 Alcester Road and the junction with Linthurst Newtown.
A diversion route is in place via Linthurst Newtown, Blackwell Road, Fiery Hill Road, Brookhouse Road, Littleheath Lane and Alcester Road.
The pipe is in the centre of the road and, in order to keep staff and road users safe, it has been necessary to close the road while the work is carried out.
A National Grid spokesperson said: “It is not known exactly how long the repairs will take at this stage.
“However, every effort is being made to complete work as soon as possible.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will keep motorists and residents updated.”
