Ritz treatment for the Rosehill Flower Arrangement Society

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Aug, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

‘TEA AT THE RITZ’ was the theme for the last meeting of the Rosehill Flower Arrangement Society.

It was created by member Virginia Davis and chairman Diana Kitely.

A total of 67 women and 2 men enjoyed the buffet lunch of salmon or ham with salad and new potatoes, followed by strawberries and cream with meringues.

It was followed by a hilarious ‘Tea at the Ritz’ demonstration which saw the stage decorated as a high class tea shop with Virginia arriving in her ‘nippy’ waitress outfit. Diana was dressed as ‘lady of the manor’ complete with feather hair adornment, stylish cigarette holder and gleaming pearls.

There was much entertaining banter between the waitress and her ladyship including the history of tea and authentic Ritz advice on how to make the perfect cup of tea – absolutely no tea bags.

The audience also received many flower arranging tips and there was much to admire in their many arrangements.

‘Her ladyship’ also entertained with poems and readings and there was plenty of laughter in the hall.

Raffle winners got to take home the demonstrators’ beautiful arrangements and table decorations.

The ‘Tea at the Ritz’ was greatly enjoyed and provided funds for future demonstrations.

The Rosehill Flower Arrangement Society meets at the Lickey Trinity Centre at 2pm on the second Monday of each month.

There is no August meeting and the next one will be September 12.

A warm welcome awaits new members and visitors.
