BROMSGROVE residents are being urged to have their say on the issue of parking outside schools across the district, writes Tom Banner.
A new six-month road safety around schools task group has been set up by overview and scrutiny board of Bromsgrove District Council after reports of dangerous and problem parking outside schools in Bromsgrove.
Coun Chris Bloore, head of the task group said: “We want everyone to be safer around schools, and so we aim to look at all the facts and make some recommendations as to what may be done to tackle the parking problems so many people tell us they are concerned about.
“Areas of concern include abuse of local parking regulations, such as parking on yellow lines, and the perception that there is a lack of enforcement action.”
The group, which includes councillors Rita Dent, Caroline Spencer and Sean Shannon will gather evidence and take feedback from residents to make recommendations on improvements to parking rules and enforcement.
The group is expected to make a full report to the overview and scrutiny board in September.
