May Day celebrations at Harvington Hall this weekend

HARVINGTON HALL near Chaddesley Corbett will be hosting its annual May Day celebrations this weekend.

On Sunday and Monday between 11.30am and 4pm, there will be several activities including Maypole dancing.

Re-enactors will demonstrate the arts of archery and weaponry, The Great Kitchen will be host to log fires and cookery of historic recipes and there will be music and dancing.

Guided tours will run throughout the day and visitors will be able to discover the many secret priests’ hiding places around the hall.




The Moatside Tea Room will also be open for refreshments, light lunches and homemade cakes.

Barbra Parks, administrative assistant at the hall, said: “The hall has a wonderful house, beautiful gardens and a unique story to tell.”
