Families braved the rain to enjoy the first Bromsgrove street theatre event of the year

FAMILIES did not let torrential rain stop them having fun at this year’s first Bromsgrove Street Theatre event.

The extravaganza on Wednesday, featuring Bell and Bullock and Jason Maverick, was due to be held on The Rec, by Asda, but was moved to the High Street for safety reasons.

Despite the change of venue, there was still plenty of ‘maritime mayhem with magic and mirth and high-energy circus, mime and robots’, along with other activities.

There will be more street theatre today (Thursday) in Wythall Park.

Further events will be at Catshill Meadow on Monday, July 1, at Romsley Playing Fields on Thursday, August 3, back at The Rec on August 9 and in St Chad’s Park in Rubery on August 10.

All events take place between 11am and 3pm.
