Bromsgrove Editorial 12th Jun, 2019   0

CHARITIES and community groups in Bromsgrove and Redditch can now apply for funding for projects that encourage young people to take action on the issues that matter to them.

Through the #iwill Fund, Worcestershire Community Foundation (WCF) is looking for groups that engage young people aged 10-20 in activities such as campaigning, fundraising or volunteering.

Funding of up to £5,000 is available to groups including registered charities, community groups, social enterprises and CICs.

The closing date for applications is 5th July with funding being awarded by August 20.

Projects that received funding in the first round include: Ourside Youth Association in Evesham which has developed an intergenerational café led by young people in the town; Redditch- based community organisation Reach with their programme Building Futures working with at-risk children, and Worcester Community Trust which has invested in a training programme to upskill disadvantaged young people.

Development director of Worcestershire Community Foundation, Lucy Wells, said: “Young people have enormous potential make a positive change in their communities.

We’re proud to support local groups working with the next generation of volunteers, campaigners and activists who want to make a difference.”
