RESIDENTS and visitors flocked to Bromsgrove town centre on Saturday (April 23) for the annual St George’s Day celebrations.
On the High Street, there was music from Vintage Class, along with performances from the Nancy Butterfly Morris Dancers, Magic Bob’s Balloon Model Creations, Bromsgrove WI and Songstars Show Choirs.
Youngsters also got to show off their creative sides when they were given the chance to decorate crowns, just days after HM The Queen celebrated her 90th birthday.
There was a display of classic Austin cars, built down the road in Longbridge and, in a packed day in the town, there was also family fun put on by the YMCA.
A spokesman from Bromsgrove District Council said: “This year’s bigger, better St George’s day celebrations certainly seemed to go down a treat. It was really well attended and it’s great to see the level of public support for the event. There’s always a good turnout in Bromsgrove and this year the Queen’s milestone birthday added something extra. I’d also like to thank everyone at St John’s church for their sterling efforts to make it a great day.”
