NEW sessions to help expectant Bromsgrove parents will begin in the district from next week.

Early Help, in partnership with health visitors, will be running ‘Birth and Beyond’ classes for parents to provide them with valuable information on what to expect during pregnancy and the first few months after the baby is born.

They will examine getting to know your unborn baby, changes parents-to-be will experience, giving birth and meeting baby, parents’ health and well-being, caring for baby and who is there for them – people and services.

The sessions will be held at Woodrush Community Hub in Wythall on Wednesdays from 10am to midday from May 25, at the Tulip Tree Centre in Catshill on Tuesdays between 10am and midday from June 7 and at the Sunny Fields Centre in Charford on Mondays 10am to 12pm from July 4.

Liz Griffiths, Bromsgrove Early Help operational manager, said it was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the transition into parenthood.

“We are delighted to be delivering these sessions in partnership with the health visitors,” she added.

The sessions are free and run for four weeks. They are suitable for parents from 28 weeks into their pregnancy.

Those interested can contact their health visitor or call Sue Houghton at Tulip Centre on 01527 879951.
