A CONSORTIUM is close to completing a takeover of Bromsgrove Sporting with a new era for the club on the horizon.

The five-person consortium are in the process of buying a 75 per cent controlling stake in the club.

Bromsgrove Sporting Holdings Limited are waiting for the relevant shares to be transferred.

A spokesperson for Bromsgrove Sporting Holdings Limited said: “We can confirm that all members of our five-person consortium recently passed the FA Owners’ and Directors’ Test (ODT), as part of the process of taking ownership of Bromsgrove Sporting FC.

“This is our hometown club and one that we believe has huge potential.

“While we’re excited to have been approved by The FA, and to be closer to realising the club’s potential, shares are yet to be transferred.

“We continue to work closely with the FA and the club’s current owners, including Bromsgrove Sporting Supporters Society Limited (BSSS), and the management team to ensure a stable transition.

“We’re incredibly excited for the future of Bromsgrove Sporting and will share updates with fans as soon as we can.”

Current Sporting chairman Brown added: “We’ve been working closely with the consortium to get to this stage, and are looking forward to continuing this partnership as their involvement in the club increases in due course.”

Brown took on the role of chairman in December 2023. That came after former chairman Brian Seymour-Smith suddenly departed the club the previous month.
