Shorthouse could make first Bromsgrove Sporting start tonight in county cup semi-final

NEW SIGNING Luke Shorthouse could be in line to make his first start for Bromsgrove Sporting tonight (Tuesday).

Sporting boss Paul Smith is looking to make a number of changes to his starting eleven for tonight’s home clash against Malvern Town in the semi-finals of the Worcestershire Senior Urn.

Hot-shot striker Shorthouse, who signed for the Rouslers last week, made an instant impression as a substitute when he set up Bromsgrove’s second goal in their FA Vase third round win over Nuneaton Griff on Saturday.

And Smith told the Standard he could have another opportunity to impress against the West Midlands Regional Premier Division outfit.

“Everyone’s chomping at the bit to play because of the strong start to the season we’ve had.

“I’ll be using it to get minutes into some of the squad as there’s one or two who haven’t had many minutes under their belt.

“So the likes of skipper Craig Jones, Nathan Walker, Joseph Haines, Will Tibbetts and Luke Shorthouse will be looking to start the game. We are all geared up to try and win it.”

Victory for Bromsgrove will secure their place in the final.
