INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

IT HAS been a good start to Step Five for Sporting as set fourth in the league and just three points off the top.

Barring the slip-up and bad performance at Coventry Sphinx, we’ve been very solid and also showing some impressive stuff in the final third.

Last night was not the best of nights for us at Pershore Town but we showed the character, and in the end, the quality that we needed to make sure we were in the hat for the next round.

Overall there a few positives to take from last night but for me there were two.

Firstly, young Nathan Binner was excellent in midfield, showing the confidence to get on the ball in tight areas and trying to make something happen in the forward areas.

Secondly, the unbelievable strike from Jason Cowley to get him back on the scoresheet after his period out through injury.

On a personal note, I am over the moon to keep finding myself on the scoresheet with four goals in the last four, especially the winner a very gutsy 1-0 win at Coventry United on Saturday.

As we look to the weekend’s game against Lye Town, the lads know it is going to be another tough test but we are feeling confident again that by playing well we can get a positive result.
