INSIDE VIEW - Craig Jones' Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Editorial 6th Dec, 2018   0

Bromsgrove Sporting skipper Craig Jones writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on the postponed Didcot game and how important the fans will be this weekend when league leaders Peterborough Sports come to town.

I HAVE experienced a lot of things in football but what happened last Saturday was a first.

To perform how we did against a dangerous and in-form side like Didcot, only to have it snatched away from us was disheartening to say the least.

The dressing room was as bad as a losing one afterwards and that was the general feeling among the boys.

All this was compounded by the fact I don’t score many, especially in front of the Shed End and now that’s gone too!

We have to make sure when the rearranged game rolls round we start, maintain and finish the way we did on Saturday.

With Tuesday’s game against Worcester being cancelled, it’s given us longer to prepare on things in training for a big game this week against top-of-the-table Peterborough Sports.

They’re flying at the moment and will certainly come into the game as favourites.

But we have a great home record and when we perform how we know we can, we back ourselves to beat anyone in this league.

The difference on Saturday may well be off the pitch and in the stands.

First versus second, but I don’t think they will have played in front of backing like ours before.

Get yourself down to the Vic, make yourself heard and be our 12th man.

Let’s make up for what’s happened this week.
