CHILDREN from nurseries and pre-schools across Bromsgrove, Rubery and South Birmingham have been enjoying graduation ceremonies before they head to big school in September.

At Meadows Stepping Stones Pre-School, 19 children took part in a graduation service which included a celebratory picnic lunch.

Olwen Field and Pauline Kidd said a big thank you to all the parents and carers for all their support over the years.

At Daisychain Home Nursery in Bromsgrove, there was a leavers’ party where children got to enjoy spending time on a bouncy castle, along with party games and ice cream.

Jan Turberville and Sue Onions the nursery managers said “We will be sad to see the children leave but wish them all the best for their move to big school.”

And at the Alphabets at Hollymoor Nursery in Northfield, there was a graduation ceremony where the children received well-done, good luck and attendance certificates.

They were also given graduation bags and enjoyed a celebratory lunch, along with parents and staff.

The nursery’s assistant manger Karen Mawdsley said: “It was very well-attended by parents and grandparents and was a very emotional time for the staff and we with them all well.”
