PUPILS from Winterfold House School in Chaddesley Corbett embarked on an ‘Explorer Day’ where they found out more about world history.
The youngsters learned about life on board a ship at the time of Christopher Columbus and designed posters to recruit brave sailors to join their voyage.
A crash course in navigation led to the crew drawing their own maps and charts were studied closely to record speed and direction for the captain.
Advice books on ports were studied, tide tables were consulted and the ship returned home with the hold full of riches.
A school spokesperson said: “A great educational journey was had by all.”
