A MOTORIST had a lucky escape when the car she was driving hit the central reservation of the Rubery bypass, A38, last night (Sunday).

The woman, who was in her 30s, had to be cut free from the vehicle following the incident, which happened about 7pm.

Two fire engines from Bromsgrove Fire Station attended and the roof of the car was removed, using powered cutting equipment, so firefighters and paramedics could get to her.

The woman, who was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, sustained injuries to her neck, back and arm but, fortunately, all are thought to be not serious.
