A GROUP for the older people in South Birmingham has celebrated its two-year anniversary.

The Reaside Over 60s meets at the Reaside Community Centre, Ormond Road, Frankley, for a number of activities, including bingo, quizzes, art and crafts, Tai Chi, and monthly fish and chip suppers.

Members also have meals out and trips to the seaside.

Longbridge councillors – Coun Andy Cartwright and Coun Brett O’Reilly – went along to a special combined birthday party and Halloween bash on Monday (October 27), where there was food, bingo, a quiz and a raffle.

Group organiser Karan Bolton said: “It went really well – everyone had a great time.”

She added the group and the centre were at the heart of the community and used by a lot of people.

The group currently has 25 on its books but new members are always welcome and transport can be provided.

Anyone wanting to find out more should call Karan on 07817090587.
