THE NEW urban themed play area on Bromsgrove’s Rec, near Asda, has already been given the overwhelming thumbs up say council bosses.

The park, which features a variety of equipment and pays tribute to the roads history and settings, such as the Wartime drill hall, was officially opened by Coun Peter Whittaker.

Bromsgrove District Council’s parks officer Jackie Boreham said: “I was there on Saturday and we had overwhelming positive feedback, especially with regard to the new swing which allows toddlers and older children or parents to swing together.

“It has been so well-used that we are having to install more litter bins.

“The one we have is constantly full showing residents are also taking pride in their new park.”
