THE EASTER holidays are upon us and there are plenty of things to do for families in Bromsgrove and further afield.
There are a host of parks to visit throughout the area, including Sanders Park and The Rec in Bromsgrove, play areas in Charford, Sidemoor and other areas, including St Chad’s Park in Rubery, the Lickey Hills and Waseley Hills country parks and Victoria Common in Northfield.
Museums and other tourist attractions are pulling out all the stops to ensure children of all ages are kept busy and – with the cost-of-living crisis – that there is something for all budgets.
Easter egg hunts
There are a number of Easter egg hunts taking place in Bromsgrove and Redditch, including one at Bromsgrove Sporting on Monday, April 3, and another at Sanders Park on Wednesday, April 5.
Local libraries
There are plenty of activities on offer at Bromsrove, Rubery, Catshill and Hagley Libraries throughout the school holidays. These include storytime, Lego creation sessions, creative bakes and more. Click here for more.
Avoncroft Museum
As well as the museum, the historic buildings to explore and the play area, there is also a special ‘Of All the People in the World’ exhibition to see. The intriguing display has brought by the Birmingham Theatre Company, Stan’s Cafe features 1.12 tonnes of rice, a single grain for everyone in the UK.
Hanbury Hall
There are plenty of Easter activities taking place at the National Trust property over the Easter holidays, including egg hunts, egg decorating and more. Click here for more.
Get creative
The Young Creators Online Exhibition, led by Creative Art Showcase (CAS), is calling for young artists of all genres and disciplines to showcase their work following the theme of ‘Imagination Unlimited’. People can create their pieces at home or with school or community groups. And there are workshops over the Easter holidays at Avoncroft Museum. Click here for more.
Circus Mondao – Upton Warren
The Wild Wild West-themed Circus Mondao comes to Upton Warren from Friday, April 7, to April 16. Click here for more on the traditional big top show which features knife and axe-throwing, high-wire and plenty more.
Birmingham events
As well as several attractions in south Birmingham, including the Nature Centre, Weoley Castle and Sarehole Mill, there is also Aston Hall, Soho House and Blakesley Hall. They are all run by the Birmingham Museums – click here for more on what is going on at these venues over the Easter holidays.
Further afield
There are plenty of places to visit in areas within an easy drive of Bromsgrove, including Drayton Manor them park and Thomas Land, which celebrates its 15th anniversary, along with Warwick Castle where there is a new trebuchet show.
