STOKE Prior now has its first ever Guide unit.

The troop, which opened last month, is run by a team of four leaders and follows a growth in popularity of Girlguiding in Bromsgrove.

The new 1st Stoke Prior Guides will offer even more local girls the opportunity to get involved in Girlguiding, as well as a new location and midweek meeting.

The charity aims to give girls and young women a place where they can be themselves, have fun and build friendships, as well as gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their communities.

Girlguiding also builds confidence, raises aspirations and gives every girl who joins the chance to discover their full potential.

A spokesperson for the new troop said: “Members of the 1st Stoke Prior Guides are looking forward to their first fun filled summer term and promise to update everyone on their latest adventures over the next few months.”

Those wanting to enrol their daughter in a local Rainbow, Brownie or Guide unit can find out more by visiting: http://www.girlguiding.org.uk/ and clicking on the ‘parents’ section.
