A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for the county over the weekend.
The Met Office has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms across Worcestershire and South Birmingham from the early hours of Saturday (July 19) morning.
An amber warning, which urges residents to ‘be prepared’, has been issued after forecasters predicted large hail, strong gusts, torrential rain and lighting could all be possible from 12am until 12pm.
Due to the downpours areas within both counties are also at risk of flooding.
A statement on the organisation’s website said the public should be aware of disruption on the roads due to the elements.
It follows a build up of very warm and humid air towards the end of this week.
