Rednal youngsters find out about firefighting

Bromsgrove Editorial 30th Apr, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

CHILDREN from the Plus 2s group at St Stephen’s Church in Rednal found out what it was like to be firefighters with a visit to Northfield Fire Station.

They watched an under fives safety DVD in the station’s community room, learning how to call 999 and 112 in an emergency and about the importance of them learning their own address.

They got to see the firefighters slide down their pole and were able to sit in the fire engine and use the hose.

They also got to dress as firefighters and parents and carers were able to book fire safety checks for their homes.

Julie Kite-Lightfoot, the Plus 2s manager said: “It was a very worthwhile and enjoyable visit for all.”
