WEST Midlands Railway’s new fleet of electric trains will carry its first passengers on the Cross City line from Monday (April 15).
The first class 730 train fleet of 48 three-carriage trains began accepting passengers from Wolverhampton to Birmingham in February and will soon be serving customers travelling between Redditch, Bromsgrove and Birmingham.
When launching the fleet on other lines in February, Jonny Wiseman, WMR customer experience director, said : “I am delighted that our fantastic new Class 730 fleet has entered service in the West Midlands.
“These trains will make a real difference for our passengers, offering a better experience for customers.
“They will also provide a much more spacious feel and a higher capacity so more passengers can travel on our services.”
The new trains include digital information screens, accessible toilets and power points at every seat.
