BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid took time out of his busy schedule to visit Parkside School as part of a democracy-themed event.
The Secretary of State for Business, Industry and Skills spoke to those on the school councils of Meadows First, Sidemoor First and Parkside Middle Schools. Pupils worked together to think about what it meant to be a leader in modern Britain, producing some fantastic work.
Charlotte Bevan from Parkside said Mr Javid’s visit inspired the would-be politicians of tomorrow to work towards making positive changes in their community.
“The teachers were very proud of the pupils who attended and we hope to see a few leaders of Britain in the future,” she added.
Mr Javid added it was inspiring to talk with pupils from local school councils.
“It’s so important that children are encouraged to learn about the values of democracy. This is about engaging the next generation in the future of our country.”
