A MAN in his 20s is fighting for his life after a stabbing in Bromsgrove.

The incident happened at 6.54pm yesterday evening (Monday) in Charford.

The attacker approached two men from Villiers Road and an altercation then took place on Crossley Walk.

The man who carried out the attack was white, 5ft 8ins tall and of large build.

He was wearing a checked shirt, jeans and Wellington boots.

The victim was taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries and members of the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team will be putting on extra patrols over the coming days to reassure residents.

It is thought one of the men may have been walking a tan coloured dog at the time of the attack and it is believed all three men are known to each other.

Det Insp John Cashion said it was believed to be an isolated incident.

“We believe we have spoken to all those involved but would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident taking place or saw anything prior to it taking place.”

They have appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack or anyone with any information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A weapon has been recovered as part of the operation and a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

He is currently in police custody.
