A BIRMINGHAM man appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday) in connection with an incident in Barnt Green in which a schoolgirl was approached.
Sajid Mahmood, 36, from Teall Road, was arrested in the village later that morning and was charged yesterday evening (Thursday) with attempting to take a child so as to remove her from a person having lawful control.
He was also charged with perverting the course of justice, after being accused of providing false details when he was arrested.
The incident happened at 8.25am on Fiery Hill Road on Wednesday (June 18).
Following his court appearance, he was remanded in custody until September 29 when he will appear at Worcester Crown Court.
