Just the ticket as Wythall Transport Museum puts its reopening plans into gear

THE Transport Museum Wythall is re-opening on Saturday August 8.

Four months after closure and with a new socially distanced layout and visitor experience featuring a one-way route through the two transport halls takes visitors around all the exhibits.

Numbers on site will be restricted through online booking to ensure the comfort of visitors and stays could possibly limited to two hours at busy times, dependent on numbers.

The museum will be open on Saturdays and Wednesdays through the rest of August, plus August Bank Holiday Monday – August 28. Visitor numbers will be reviewed on a daily basis and the opening schedule amended as appropriate for September and October.

The schedule starts at 11am with the last booking at 3.30pm before the museum closes at 4,30pm.


Ticket are: £5 adults, £2.50 children aged five to 16.

Refreshments will be available and the children’s play area will be open but the miniature railway will not be running.

Museum trustee Dave Taylor said: ‘We are delighted to welcome visitors to Wythall once again.

“The team has been carefully preparing the ground for several weeks, with strict adherence to Government guidelines ensuring as comfortable an experience as possible in this ‘new normal’.

Any potential visitors who may still wish to hold off for a while can take a virtual bus ride at www.wythall.org.uk/vt.asp where donations to the museum can also be made.

The museum is located off the A435 Birmingham to Evesham road, signposted from the Becketts Farm island.
