Damaged powerlines leaves passengers stranded

Bromsgrove Editorial 21st Oct, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

PASSENGERS on a train from Redditch to Bromsgrove were stranded for more than two-and-a-half hours.

The train came to a standstill 400 yards outside Barnt Green Station, leaving 20 passengers stuck, after it caught branches, pulling down overhead powerlines.

Engineers fixed the problem enabling the train, which left Redditch about 7pm, to pull into Barnt Green just after half nine.

A bus then took passengers to Longbridge where they could continue with their journeys.
