A chance to discover chaplaincy in Droitwich

A FORUM for residents across Worcestershire who want to learn all about Chaplaincy will be held at Droitwich Spa Methodist Church next Saturday (May 21).

‘The Church that has left the building’ takes place between 9.30am and 3pm and will showcase the variety of Chaplaincies Christians in the county are sharing in.

Those who go along will be able to hear the experience of chaplains, clergy and lay in places from prisons, to hospitals, to canals, to shops.

There will be ten different chaplains on the day and there will be workshops in key areas.

A spokesperson for the event said: “We are delighted Rev David Butterworth, Chaplain for the NEC and NIA Birmingham, will lead the day.

“It is a day for all Christians, from all backgrounds who perhaps feel a call to some sort of Chaplaincy, for those who are active already as chaplains and for people who want to explore more about this part of the Church’s mission.”

There will also be the chance for people to worship and share lunch together. Drinks will be provided but participants should bring their own packed lunch.

Anyone interested in going should e-mail Stephanie Watson at [email protected] – the event is free but donations of £5 will be welcome.
