Catshill War Memorial re-dedicated ahead of Remembrance Sunday

CATSHILL War Memorial had its re-dedication last Sunday (October 25) in preparation for Remembrance Day.

Ian Hooper from the Lickey End branch of the Royal British Legion said: “On behalf of branch I would like to thank all those who contributed to the raising of funds for the restoration and to the support we have received from both Bromsgrove District and Worcestershire County Councils.

“A special mention must go to A Kelly who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes and to K Toolan who was the project manager.

“Our branch is one of the smallest branches in the country and sadly we are losing members every year so to achieve what we have done is fantastic.

“Next year we will again start on the fund raising so that the war memorial can be tarmacced instead of gravel which will make it easier to keep clean and be less of a trip hazard.”
