AN AWARD-WINNING drama club has returned to the stage with hit musical ‘Half a Sixpence’, writes Lauren Tiller.
Hagley Theatre Group’s youth section are set to perform the musical at Hagley Community Centre from now until Saturday with performances at 7.30pm each night.
The play, originally staged in London in the early 60s, was based on HG Wells’ story ‘Kipps: The Story of Simple Soul’ and was adapted into a film in 1967.
The young performers were awarded ‘Best Youth Production in 2015’ for the West Midlands by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association for their version of ‘Into the Woods’.
Tickets are £10 for general admission and £8 for concessions.
