THE YOUNGSTER who is campaigning to get a defibrillator put in every school in Bromsgrove is taking her campaign to Droitwich’s Chateau Impney hotel on Friday, September 1.

Ten-year-old Emily Faulkner will be at the venue for the next MMA night organised by Fighting Fit, based in Aston Fields. At the Chateau she will be setting up her stall to sell her merchandise and raise funds for the defib drive.

Bromsgrove instructor Andy Hopwood said: “We heard about ‘Every Heart Matters’ and we jumped at the chance to offer our support to a brilliant cause.

“We are now looking to other local businesses to help sponsor the event and promote their businesses too.”

The MMA programme is run in blocks of 12 weeks with training sessions run every Monday to Thursday from 7.15pm to 8.30pm.

No martial arts experience is necessary. Skills learnt include boxing, kickboxing, grappling, submission fighting and combat conditioning.

There will also be the chance to test skills learnt in the optional Fight Nights.

Emily’s campaign has now reached £3,556 overall total means Emily is closing in on her fourth defib and now over a third of the way to her £10,000 target.

The Every Heart Matters range can be bought or ordered from Focal Image, Broad Street, Bromsgrove or at www.facebook.com/Everyheartmattersx – the campaign’s Facebook page.

Residents and groups can also visit localgiving.org/fundraising/everyheartmattersx to donate to the cause.
