Button Factory to host art exhibition

Bromsgrove Editorial 26th Apr, 2024   0

A COLOURFUL and contemporary art exhibition will take place this weekend in Bromsgrove.

Art will meet history when two creative local businesses – Jordan Williams Upholstery and Bromsgrove artist Michelle Doidge – hold the display from 10am to 4pm tomorrow (Saturday, April 27) at The Button Factory in Windsor Street.

The button factory, owned by Benjaming Sanders, was once a thriving business in Bromsgrove providing work for local people.

After years of laying empty and after extensive refurbishment by Morrison Nash Ltd it has been brought back to life and is now the new premises for Jordan Williams Upholstery – ‘a perfectly fit’ as Benjamin Sanders was the maker of cloth-covered buttons.

Michelle said: ““Jordan has been very supportive of my work and has often featured my paintings in his shop.

“I am thrilled and honoured to be exhibiting at Jordan’s fabulous new premises in this historic setting.

“The exhibition space at the Button Factory is the perfect backdrop for my paintings and Jordan’s bespoke, luxury upholstery complements beautifully with my artwork.”

Original work, prints and cards will be on display and for sale.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
