TWO MEMBERS of Bromsgrove Speakers Club represented the Midlands in the Association of Speakers Clubs National Contest.
The event, held from April 21 to 23 at the Gatwick Hilton, saw Peter Worthington and Luke Evans lining up against some of the best speakers in the country.
Luke triumphed in his category, winning first place in the Speech Category.
Peter gave an excellent impromptu speech on the subject of ‘Time’.
Also competing was Dilwyn Scott from Stourbridge Speakers Club who took first place in the Evaluation contest.
Bromsgrove Speakers Club meets at the Barn at The Bell at Belbroughton on alternate Tuesdays from 7.45pm to 10pm.
Peter said: “Although it’s fun to enter competitions, the real focus of Bromsgrove Speaking Club is enhancing speaking confidence whether that be for your work or to help in everyday life.”
