Bromsgrove to fall silent for Armistice Day

Bromsgrove Editorial 11th Nov, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

BROMSGROVE will fall silent at 11am today (Wednesday) when the town holds its annual Armistice Day service.

There will be a short service at the Odd Fellows Memorial (above the EE shop) starting about 10.45am.

That will feature a blessing and a two-minute silence at 11am, along with the Last Post, Exhortation and Reveille.

Armistice Day is marked at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month to mark the Armistice peace agreement which was signed by the allies and Germany at that time and date in 1918, signalling the end of the First World War.
