Bromsgrove cabbie is first to go electric

Bromsgrove Editorial 5th Apr, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

A TAXI driver from Bromsgrove has become the first in town to switch to an electric car to transport his passengers around.

Manos Passaris, from the Gold ‘n’ Black taxi company, made the switch to an all-electric Nissan LEAF to dramatically reduce his outgoings as well as doing his bit for the environment.

Mr Passaris was spending £600 every month on diesel but now owns a car that costs on average just 2p a mile to run.

He said: ”I have always been fascinated by electric cars since I was young so I jumped at the chance to buy a LEAF. It is saving me a fortune.”
