MEMBERS of the Bromsgrove Belles WI have celebrated the group’s first anniversary with a special party and of course cake.

The WI starts its second year with a move from St John’s Church Hall to the Life After Stroke Centre in Church Lane.

The group already boasts 30 members but is hoping to bolster its ranks even further in the coming 12 months.

Carla Priddon, who is remaining as president for another year, said: “What a successful year we have had- we have launched book clubs and supper clubs, held craft evenings and had trips to local gardens to look forward to.

“The WI is a special institution which has helped shaped the world in which we live and I am proud to be keeping the tradition alive and making it meaningful to the women of today.”
