TWO talented young musicians will give a free performance during a Bite Sized Classic concert organised as part of the Bromsgrove Festival.
Milo Boffey on piano and Theo Ceney on cello will take to the stage for around 30 minutes at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday, July 9) at NewSong Community Church in Sidemoor.
Milo, who is 16, attends North Bromsgrove High School and started playing piano eight years ago.
He recently performed at St John’s Church in the Concert for Ukraine and at the Creative Arts Party in Sanders Park.
Milo will be perform a few of his favourite pieces including Debussy’s Clair de lune and Experience by Ludovico Einaudi.
To add to the concert experience, the music will be projected onto a screen providing a performance to stimulate more than one sense.
Theo Ceney, 19, from Bromyard has been playing cello since the age of six and achieved distinction at Grade 8.
Theo was lead cellist in Hereford Youth Orchestra for five years and has played with the National Youth Orchestra and English Symphony Orchestra.
In September he is heading to Leeds Conservatoire to study for a BA (hons) in classical music having won the Alan Hawkshaw scholarship. Theo will play a selection of Bloch and Bach, which demonstrate a nice dichotomy between the earliest forms of music and more modern works from the 20th century.
The Bite Sized Concerts are organised by Graham MacKenzie.
He said “These free concerts are open to all and are held to give people a taste of classical music.”
He added everyone was delighted to be showcasing these two ‘rising stars’ and hoped many people would attend – to get an introduction to new music or to support these talented young people.
