Another Bromsgrove school receives defibrillator thanks to the Every Heart Matters campaign

ANOTHER school in Bromsgrove has received a defibrillator, thanks to the Every Heart Matters campaign being run by ten-year-old Emily Faulkner.

Emily has vowed to put one of the life-saving devices in every school across the district.

And, just a week after donating the second defib to Dodford First School, the third one has been handed over – this time to Stoke Prior First.

Rob and Maggie Underwood from The Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF), who Emily is supporting with its aim to make all schools heart safe, were also at Stoke Prior for the handover.

The group met with headteacher Lee Satchwell and some of the pupils before Rob trained the staff in how to use the defibrillator.

Shocking statistics show 270 children die in schools every year from cardiac arrests and The CCSHF aims to help reduce those figures by ensuring all schools have these life-savings devices to protect all the children and their families.

Rob and Maggie started the charity after losing their children Charlotte and Craig in this tragic way.

The pair are driven to ensure no one else has to go through what they have.

Emily has also created her Every Heart Matters clothing range which is printed at Bromsgrove’s Focal Image, the business owned by her aunt Gail Fry.

The clothing can be bought through the Every Heart Matters Facebook page and from Focal Image, Broad Street.

Very soon Emily’s new Christmas range of clothing will be coming out as part of the fund-raising drive which has now seen more than £4,100 collected in six months, taking Emily halfway to her fourth defibrillator.

Gail said: “It is an amazing cause which Emily has completely got behind and is pleased to be apart of helping this brilliant family in their aim.”

Emily added: “I cant believe the amazing support from people and its great fun coming up with new ideas.”
