MEADOWS First School in Bromsgrove has joined the UK committee for UNICEF’s campaign to protect children’s rights and call for climate action.

Students at the school are taking part in the nationwide children’s rights campaign OutRight.

They have been developing their understanding of children’s rights and speaking out for the rights of children across the world.

Hundreds of schools and organisations across the UK call for action from leaders, ensuring children’s rights are protected from the impact from climate change.

Headteacher Leigh Satchwell said: “We are so proud to be Gold Rights Respecting School and give our pupils the opportunity to speak out and have a voice on matters that are important to them.

“They created banners, leaflets, stickers and performed a song at our climate event to show our community what they could do to help with the threat of global warming.”

The annual children’s right campaign OutRight empowers children and young people to speak out about children’s rights.

Meadows First is one of more than 5,000 UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools across the UK that are taking part.
