A SPECIAL beacon will be lit to mark the 70th anniversary of VE day at the Beacon Church Centre tonight (Friday)
Rubery residents are all invited to meet at 9.15pm to mark the occasion at the Whetty Lane church before the beacon is lit on the car park at 9.30pm.
Rev Ian Ring said: “We are very pleased to be part of the VE day celebrations and to also note the last 70 years of peace.”
Anyone who is driving has been asked to park on the road.
