WYTHALL-based 4 Chaps microbrewery is to hold a Platinum Jubilee celebration event at Wythall Village Hall on Bank Holiday Friday.

The brewery has been operating a successful monthly tap-room evening since December last year and has organised an extended family-friendly event on June 3, part of the special Jubilee weekend.

They’ll be open from 2.30pm through to last orders at 10.30pm at the Alcester Road venue and visitors are welcome to turn up anytime.

The brewery will offer a wide selection of craft beers plus wines, spirits, soft drinks.

In addition there will be hot and cold snacks during the afternoon and wood fired pizzas on sale from 5pm.

Plus there will be board games to play, Jubilee-related crafts and drawing for families.

Weather permitting there will extra outdoor seating plus a raffle organised by the Wythall Witch Walk Fund.

One of the 4 Chaps, Chris Antill, said: “We’re delighted to offer an extended tap-room event.

“The regular evenings have been popular and this gave us an ideal chance to widen our appeal and weather permitting introduce outside tables so families can bring pets and enjoy the sunshine.

“For the Jubilee date we’d like to have board games from past decades plus a craft and colouring table where children can design their own crown or a coat for Her Majesty’s Corgis!”

With a shared interest in beer and brewing the ‘Chaps’ started out with a simple 30 litre system before expanding rapidly to cope with demand.

Based in Wythall, they brew a range of craft beers including pale ales, IPAs, lagers, bitters and a mild and have been trading on a wholesale and retail basis for a year.

They supply retail outlets like Becketts Farm and BCM at the Jinney Ring plus independent and micro pubs. They deliver locally to residents in Wythall, Hollywood and Shirley and are pleased to see drinkers travelling from wider afield to their tap-room nights which are held on the second Friday each month at Wythall Village Hall.
