A MAN suffered head injuries after he was attacked with an axe in Rubery yesterday.

The assault happened around 3pm at Market Garden in New Road.

The two attackers were both white and wearing tracksuits.

Det Con Melissa Jones said: “We know from our investigation that there were people walking past the garden centre/shop at the time and will have likely witnessed the attack or one of the suspects throwing plant pots at the victim as he ran off.”

Police said fortunately the victim’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have now appealed for anyone who saw the incident to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
