A WEEK of events were held in Rubery to celebrate St George’s Day.
Businesses in New Road took part in the annual window decorating competition was keenly contested with 24 traders taking part.
In the end there was such a difficult choice for the judges that three shops were tied for first place.
The joint winners were Age UK, Arden Estate Agents and Spex 4U Opticians with three different styles of display which gained equal marks from the judges, who looked at creativity, originality and impact.
A coffee morning at St Chad’s Church and a dinner and cabaret on Saturday evening added to the festivities organised by the Rubery St Georges Society.
