RESIDENTS at a Bromsgrove care home were treated to a surprise visit from two four-legged friends following a week of fund-raising for a guide dog charity.
Breme Care Home raised £34 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association for Redditch and Bromsgrove after selling cakes and sweets.
Residents were then surprised when Heidi, a golden Labrador, and Nadia, a black Labrador, popped by with their handlers to say thank you for their efforts.
Helen Barron, activities leader at the Sanctuary Care home, said: “When they arrived, the residents’ reactions were priceless, there were countless smiles and they couldn’t wait to fuss them – the dogs enjoyed every second of it too, it was a really lovely afternoon.
“Visits from animals like this always bring back such wonderful memories for our residents and this time was no different, many residents were recalling old pets they once had and shared lovely stories.”
