A GROUP of mums in Frankley have got together to set up a charity to help provide activities for children in the area after school, at weekends and throughout the school holidays.

The organisers say The Frankley Family Forum has been launched in response to cuts to early years services being made by central Government.

Tammy Clayton, one of the forum’s members, said: “The aim is to raise funds to continue any services lost and add to services already available like stay and plays.”

She added cash was also being raised to pay for self-defence classes for women, children and the vulnerable to build confidence and make them more self-assured when they are out and about.

Anyone wanting to get involved with The Frankley Family Forum or any individuals or businesses wanting to contribute financially can call Tammy on 07494 338273.
